The horror continues in the Prahova county - Romania - Not only a veterinarian ! is accused of killing almost 5,000 dogs ( because the mayors asked her....)BUT, in all municipal shelters in that county not only the public access is denied but even the Police and The Sanitary Veterinary County's Agency...As you can see in some photos, those dogs live in MUD, they are starved, they are mistreated , and THEIR FOOD ( give away food from restaurants, food stores etc ) IS STOLEN FROM THEM, by the employees of the shelter ...cheese, meats, bread, etc...and they got caught on camera...and apparently, based on the people' comments in the articles the wife of the veterinarian of the shelter ( Dr. Chiritescu - ) also brings some fruit and vegetable from the zoo animals where she works as a vet....because the shelter is on the same compound as the zoo...We ask in this letter, that all THESE PEOPLE, all of them, from the top to bottom, and vice versa be investigated and prosecuted at the FULL EXTEND of the laws.
Please take 3 minutes to copy/paste/send the letter...to all emails in the same time...Please do not send separate emails...it will take far too long. We also ask the FULL ACCESS TO ALL MUNICIPAL SHELTERS IN THE COUNTY FOR all associations for the protection of animals, all the time...to do volunteer work and to make sure that the dogs are taken care off...

Les horreurs continuent dans la region de Prahova Roumania.Non seulement un veterinaire ( dr.Emilia Herescu) est accuse d'avoir tue plus de5000 chiens, parceque les maires le lui ont demande ( comme si l'ordre d'un maire est au dessus de la lois !)...mais l'access dans tous les refuges de la region est interdit, non seulement au public, mais aussi a la Police et a l"Autorite veterinaire de la region...comme s'il saggissait d'un secret d'etat...
Voyez dans les photos et les liens fournis les conditions dans les quelles ces pauvres chiens vivent...de la boue, pas d'eau, pas de nourriture...blesses...affames, malades...PARCEQUE, nous vennons tout juste d'appndre que les employes du "refuge" VOLAIENT la nourriture donnes pour les animaux par des restaurants, magazins alimentairs, etc...: fromage, jambons, pain...et en plus, la femme du docteur du refuge, apparement, selon les conversations dans les commentaires dans les journaux, avait access aux fruits et aux legumes dedies aux animaux du ZOO...parce que le refuge se situe dans le meme endroit que le ZOO ...sous la meme administration..
Nous demandons dans la lettre , d'abord que toutes les personnes nommees dans les journaux d'avoir tue, affame, maltraite les animaux soit deferrees en justice et les procureurs demandent les sanctions les plus severes selons les lois...et , que tous les refuges municipaux de la region soient ouverts aux associations de la protection animale de la region, afin que les gens qui veulent aider puissent y aller et aussi pour pouvoir controler tout le temps l'activite dans ces refuges.

I was very disturbed and disappointed by the news coming from Romania, the Prahova County, about the treatment of stray dogs...It is incomprehensible how a veterinarian who took a vow "not to harm" animals, is capable of killing thousands of dogs with cold blood...
It is horrifying to see the "living "conditions for the dogs...to find out that animals are left to starve, to eat one another, in the mud, no water, and above all it is DISGUSTING to find out that people PAID with salaries to care for these animals, STOLE their food...how can ANY HUMAN BEING with a heart and conscience STEAL the food of an animal ?...How is it possible for people ( veterinarians ) trained to HELP ANIMALS IN NEED harm them...
Why is the access to the shelter denied to animal protection associations, or to the Police, or to the DSV ?...WHY...what do they have to HIDE?...
In the best interest for the reputation of your country, county and cities, please take all the necessary measures to investigate honestly, to prosecute at the full extend of the Romanian laws, those who committed crimes against animals, did not provide shelter , water and food, as required by the law, stole food from the animals ( in the shelter and/or in the zoo), regardless of WHO they are...politically, socially, locally, etc.
Please allow permanent access to all the municipal shelters to all the animal protection associations in your county.
I hope that Romania will decide once and for all to implement not only its OWN LAWS but also the international treaties and conventions which were signed, ratified and entered into force.
I also hope and pray that Mr. Vlad Catalin and Mr. Mircea Chiritescu WILL NOT TAKE REVENGE on the poor dogs in the shelter on the to city of Ploiesti...apparently Mr. Chiritescu took a community dog, the next day after the news about the stealing of food appeared in the news paper...This would be the ultimate abject action...retaliate on an innocent animal...
Please take a look ( again ) at those terrifying news posted in the Romanian media and please reflect upon the best decision to solve this matter.

The horror continues in the Prahova county - Romania - Not only a veterinarian ! is accused of killing almost 5,000 dogs ( because the mayors asked her....)BUT, in all municipal shelters in that county not only the public access is denied but even the Police and The Sanitary Veterinary County's Agency...As you can see in some photos, those dogs live in MUD, they are starved, they are mistreated , and THEIR FOOD ( give away food from restaurants, food stores etc ) IS STOLEN FROM THEM, by the employees of the shelter ...cheese, meats, bread, etc...and they got caught on camera...and apparently, based on the people' comments in the articles the wife of the veterinarian of the shelter ( Dr. Chiritescu - ) also brings some fruit and vegetable from the zoo animals where she works as a vet....because the shelter is on the same compound as the zoo...We ask in this letter, that all THESE PEOPLE, all of them, from the top to bottom, and vice versa be investigated and prosecuted at the FULL EXTEND of the laws.
Please take 3 minutes to copy/paste/send the letter...to all emails in the same time...Please do not send separate emails...it will take far too long. We also ask the FULL ACCESS TO ALL MUNICIPAL SHELTERS IN THE COUNTY FOR all associations for the protection of animals, all the time...to do volunteer work and to make sure that the dogs are taken care off...

Au Népal, le sacrifice des animaux est largement pratiquée. Il n'existe aucune règle de la réglementation, mais plutôt le gouvernement appuie des sacrifices de sang en accordant des subventions.
En dehors des sacrifices réguliers dans les temples de la Déesse, une extrême cruauté est menée à certaines fêtes, y compris le dépouillement en direct et le brûlage des animaux, les meurtres lente par trancher la gorge, tuer avec des couteaux flou, décapitations publiques, et cetera.
En particulier, je me réfère au Festival Khokana, qui s'est tenue en août, au cours de laquelle une chèvre terrifiés se jette dans la proximité de l'étang Deu au temple Rudrayani, après quoi l'animal est déchiré alors encore en vie par un groupe de jeunes hommes.
Personne ne peut expliquer de manière adéquate pourquoi cette pratique est réalisée année après année - sauf pour dire qu'il est «traditionnel». Ceci, cependant, n'est pas un argument valable à poursuivre cette pratique. Népal, la réalisation des effets néfastes, a aboli un certain nombre de «traditions» dans le passé, y compris les sacrifices humains et de brûler la veuve.
J'encourage le gouvernement du Népal pour abolir la pratique ci-dessus pour les raisons suivantes:

4. Il contredit l'esprit des lois - Le Népal est préoccupé par le bien-être de sa flore et la faune précieuses, et a signé un certain nombre de traités internationaux de la faune. La cruauté affichée dans cette tradition que l'on appelle en complète contradiction avec l'esprit et les gestes de ces traités et les actes.
5. Il est mauvais pour le tourisme - Les touristes sont abhorrés par de telles pratiques, le festival aura un effet négatif sur le tourisme, une industrie qui donne au pays a tant besoin des rendements financiers. Ces étrangers qui vivent ou viennent de connaître l'étendue du sacrifice dans ce pays traumatisé quitter le Népal, dégoûté et profondément attristé, plutôt que soulevé par sa beauté paradoxale et amitié.
Je vous demande instamment de mettre fin à la pratique de violence à Khokana et faire avancer le Népal vers un pays véritablement pacifique, et en accord avec son image internationale. Cela peut être fait par l'introduction et l'application d'une bien nécessaire Animal Welfare Act et promouvoir un véritable activités bien-être animal dans tout le pays.

I would like to express my deep concern about extreme cases of animal cruelty being conducted in the name of religion in Nepal.
In Nepal, animal sacrifice is widely practiced. There are no rules of regulation; rather, the government supports blood sacrifices by providing subsidies.
Apart from regular sacrifices at Goddess temples, extreme cruelty is conducted at certain festivals including the live skinning and burning of animals, slow killings through throat slitting, killing with unsharp knives, public beheadings, et cetera.
In particular, I refer to the Khokana Festival, held in August, during which a terrified goat is thrown in the Deu-pond close to the Rudrayani temple, after which the animal is torn apart whilst still alive by a group of young men.
No one can adequately explain why this practice is carried out year after year – except to say that it is ‘traditional’. This, however, is not a valuable argument to continue this practice. Nepal, realizing the adverse effects, has abolished a number of ‘traditions’ in the past, including human sacrifice and widow burning.
I encourage the government of Nepal to abolish the above practice for the following reasons:
1. It hurts the goats – contrary to what many believe, animals suffer tremendously before and during sacrifice. They are generally hurt during transportation, starved and dehydrated, and they are often purposely killed slowly and painfully, as it is believed that the goddess prefers slow deaths.
2. It hurts us - cruelty against animals harms society as a whole; it signals and normalizes insensitivity in children who can become numb to the suffering of living beings, and it is also proven to influence certain people to commit violence on other humans.
3. It strengthens vested interests – sacrifices generally boost the interests of those who benefit from superstition-based beliefs and rituals. As Nepal is moving ahead to become a more fully democratic, egalitarian society, it is crucial to challenge age-old beliefs which are not beneficial and drain the resources of the poor and needy.
4. It contradicts the spirit of laws - Nepal is concerned about the welfare of its precious flora and fauna, and has signed a number of international Wildlife Treaties. The cruelty displayed in this so-called tradition completely contradicts the spirit and gestures of these treaties and acts.
5. It is bad for tourism - As tourists are abhorred by such practices, the festival will have an adverse effect on tourism, an industry which provides the country with much-needed financial returns. Those foreigners who experience or come to know the extent of sacrifice in this country leave Nepal traumatized, disgusted, and deeply saddened, rather than uplifted by its paradoxical beauty and friendliness.
I urge you to end the violent practice at Khokana and help Nepal move towards a truly peaceful country, and in keeping with its international image. This can be done by introducing and enforcing a much-needed Animal Welfare Act and promoting genuine animal welfare activities across the country.
I trust that the government of Nepal will support these measures, which are becoming more popular by the day, globally, and thus promote non-violent cultural practices in Nepal. Until such a time, however, it will be necessary to boycott Nepal both as a tourist and via commerce as well as encourage others to participate in a boycott as well.
